Well, chances are no, of course. But if you have been a conservative for longer than 15 minutes, you have probably been called one. If you have been a conservative for longer than 15 days, you've probably been called one to your face.
The problem is that the most vocal segment of American society for the last 20 years have been the liberal/progressive faction, and they are apt to call anyone to the right of Lenin a "wing-nut." They have trite sayings like "the fact is that reality has a liberal bias" and they insist that anybody opposed to the creeping socialism we face today is a "racist."
These elements in our society are bulwarked by the fact that liberals dominate American mainstream media, and currently dominate American government.
Let's review some facts, shall we?
According to a recent Gallup Poll from October 26, 2009 entitled "Conservatives Maintain Edge as Top Ideological Group" (notice it says "maintain" and not 'gain') continuing, "Conservatives continue to outnumber moderates and liberals in the American populace in 2009, confirming a finding that Gallup first noted in June. Forty percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36% as moderate, and 20% as liberal. This marks a shift from 2005 through 2008, when moderates were tied with conservatives as the most prevalent group."

So conservatives represent 40% of America while Liberals represent only 20%. In fact, as we see above in the chart from Gallup, while conservatives and moderates have exchanged the lead a few times over the last decade, liberals have always been a sharp minority.
So how has it come to pass that the messages pervading our media and our living space claim boldly and loudly that we, the conservative majority of America, are the fringe wing-nut radicals?
There can only be two possibilities: 1) those who make the claim are living in a fantasy world where they themselves make up the majority, or 2) they are participating in an intentional albeit decentralized strategy of marginalization.
I fully believe that it is done intentionally to isolate us and marginalize us. They do this in order to make us feel alone, in the hopes of keeping us quiet. After all, if we are 'wing-nuts' that must mean that people who think like we do only make up some 10% of the population right? And since the socialists are such a huge majority, then clearly there is nothing we can do to stop them, so why try?
The problem is that their rhetoric does not align with the facts. The reality of the dominant American philosophy does not meet up with their liberal bias.
It is time to stop allowing these fringe radical liberals to dominate our society with nothing more than empty rhetoric, and to stand up for ourselves and take action!
The silent majority must be silent no more, or we will find ourselves circling the abyss of 80% taxation and dwindling production. It is time to take a stand, America. Will you help us make 2010 the year of the majority?

An assessment of right-wing radical groups in the United States, done by the Department of Homeland Security, says the current economic it training and political climate in the U.S. may help extremists recruit more members. The report, dated April 7 and distributed to police nationwide, was made public by a conservative blogger. Its main conclusions closely track with a much more detailed assessment done in February by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which 117-101 identified 926 active hate groups, up from 888 the year before. The Homeland analysis says threats from white supremacist and anti-government groups "have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts.
